Find an unclaimed open issue labelled species-request and animal; check records, PRs and claims for duplicates, then claim it with an ETA. Follow the issue and repo instructions: verify sources and licences, fetch regional activity, check behaviour and poses, and run the public checks. Open one PR with evidence, test results and the issue link. Keep incomplete work in draft. Leave merging and live deployment to maintainers.
